Istanbul

Posted by on 07.03.2012

I’m embarrassed. I have not looked in on my blog in months and then I saw that the last post is from almost a year ago! There’s been a couple of things happening after that and this is my first attempt to get back in the saddle.

Istanbul in September is beautiful and a great place to be. People are friendly, there’s no lack of stuff to see/do and the food is itself worth the trip. I started off doing the obvious and went to see the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia.

I found the lights inside Hagia Sofia fascinating and shot a ton of pictures. Taking pictures inside is a real challenge and I find that most pictures get the light all wrong. This one didn’t turn out too bad though if I can say so myself … 🙂

Istanbul is such a melting pot where east meets west, old meets new and to me it seems that most people are quite comfortable with it.

Lastly we also ventured outside after dark. Taking pictures inside is difficult, snapping photos in the dark is next to impossible! I did get this last one though of these trinkets for sale on the street.

That’s it from Istanbul. I had a great time there and also found some new good friends – hopefully I’ll be able to go back and visit!
